Folks,

I have a 2009 E350 AMG Sport coupe. I was given to understand that these were all Artico, however VIN decoder looks different...

Is it leather? In which case I might need to give it a fettle!

LEDER is leather, i.e. real leather - not Artico.

Though some on here will advise you that leather should be treated in the same way as plastic due to the polymer sealent coat used during production. I have no idea, personally, and my car has Artico anyway.....

Regular treatment with Gliptone will keep the leather supple.

Don't apply too much at a time . . .

It is leather ,as is mine (2006 C55 AMG) . I understand leather cleaning products , my first real leather car had 'light mushroom' colour interior , the current one is black.

What I don't get is leather 'conditioning' products that claim to soak into the leather . Most modern leather is chromed or treated in such a way as it sealed and will not absorb anything in the true sense of the word.

I use a leather treatment product on my steering wheel (the seats are Artico) and it feels much nicer afterwards. No idea if it is actually absorbed into the leather or not. According to the label it contains Petroleum-derived wax, and Petroleum spirit solvent.

Great stuff thanks, I was just surprised how good condition it was in for an 11yo/120k car. Will get treating :)
