i am realy confused now ive seen today the mercedes lorral badge with no blue ring????? y are they different and y do some mercs not even have the lorals???

The Laurel Wreath ( usually hung round the necks of race winners ) was the trademark of Benz & Cie , while the Three Pointed Star was the trademark of Daimler Motern Gesselschaft - the three points symbolising the superiority of Mercedes engines on land , at sea and in the air .

After the two companies amalgamated in 1926 , the combined trademark became the Mercedes Star surrounded by the Benz Laurel wreath .
