Interesting to see seven minutes coverage of MB Chichester on "Great British Railway Journeys" last night.

Plenty of coverage of the building, production line, robotics, and bespoke production logistics.

Very similar to Sindelfingen but on a slower scale.

Worth a look, if you're into the 21st century manufacturing of these cars.

Coverage starts at 4 minutes in and runs for 7 minutes.

Let's just say it's come a long way from the "Good Old Days at Crewe."

Only a passing mention to the Mercedes and Daimlers of King Edward VII. Nice factory, lovely landscaping at RR. Sindelfingen in the other hand is at the other end of the scale: huge and industrial (with its own power generation plant).

Interesting segment but some shoddy production decisions, eg not talking to the youngish owner of the one-of-kind Silver Ghost (?) who they used as a chauffeur. As head of a company restoring RRs she undoubtedly had lots of interesting things to say. Then, later, Portillo drives off into the distance for a bit of R&R, then without saying how the car was, next shot a train.
