Hello everyone, I keep getting these messages for my headlights, they work fine however the high beams dont work at all, the light appears fine on the dash once i pull the lever but the headlights themselves do not flash, any ideas why?

I’s be checking a common earth point.
It will be a stud on the inner wing with a bunch of brown wires.

If all else fails, try replacing all the bulbs one at a time, sometimes one dud bulb drives the entire system crazy.

They are brand new headlights and xenons, i don t really think its the bulbs but i will definitely check the wiring

So, the problem started after you replaced the headlamps? Was the car involved in an accident?

Did the car always had ILS/HIDs, or did you have it converted?

And do you have access to MB STAR?

Why have you had to fit new headlamps?

Did the car have Xenon lights before?

I ve had the same issue with the headlights before, they were halogens but i wanted to upgrade to xenons, even on the halogens i could not use the high beams, i do not have access to mb star

I was just looking to upgrade from halogens to xenons and high beams didnt work on halogens anyway so i believed the xenons would solve the issue

The car isn't set up for Xenons. You cannot just swap them over and hope they work.

There will be different connections, ballasts and coding required.

Plus, if there is a pre existing problem that would need addressing.

The new HID Xenon system will need to be coded-in to the car, in order for the car to recognise it. This can only be done via MB STAR diagnostic computer. The process is known as 'SCN Coding'.

BTW, the full HID system comprises also of an automatic levelling system (sensor and motors), and headlamp washers. Setting aside the fact that these two are a legal requirement for cars fitted with HIDs, I am not sure how the car will react if they are not there - i.e., once you code-in the new HID system, the car's ECU will also expect to see the automatic levelling sensor and the motors, as well as the headlamp washers, and it might either throw a fault code on the dash or disable the HID altogether, I do not know.

Either way, you really need to take the car to an independent specialist who has MB STAR.

The reflectors/projectors probably wont be able to focus the beam pattern correctly either. The lights are not the same for both bulb types. As above. technically its not a legal conversion the way you have done it..

I think that the OP has fitted new headlamps, not just a bulb change?.. They still will not work!

Hello the issue is i have changed the headlights and everything else works, low beam indicators just not the high beam, could it also be a relay or fuse or wiring?

Unfortunately not. See posts #10 and #11 above.
