Hi I have a 2006 w203 merc c320cdi And am trying to locate the crank position sensor as the car is struggling to start and very occasionally (rarely) goes into limp mode when driving. I have a new one ready to fit but just can’t find its location? Thanks

Here's what is shown for my US 320 CDI '07.

Thanks, would that be the front, middle or back of the engine? Bearing in mind that British spec cars are right hand drive.

A few years ago but I replaced mine,
although the symptoms were cutting out when warm, and not restarting till cooled some.

From under the bonnet,
right hand over gearbox (back of engine) CPS looking at flywheel,
feel cover over CPS,
prise from back to lift cover (that isn't designed to be lifted but easier than removing the bolt for cover removal),
unplug connection and use socket to remove CPS and then replace.

If memory serves at around £35 it's worth a punt as it's plug and play.
