Mercedes Digital Extras

Hi,
I have Mercedes Digital Extras but the cost keeps going up. I only use it for the sat-nav which is not brilliant.
I’ve seen posts regarding using Google maps as opposed to the Mercedes sat-nav system, so my question is how do I upload google maps?
Is it a piece of software or do I have to purchase something to make it work?
My car is a 2016 V Class

You need Android Auto / Apple CarPlay - you connect your phone and Google Maps (or Waze, or whatever) is accessible on the vehicle screen. This is a factory option on many Mercs. and there are often ways to retro-fit it if not present.

Do you know what infotainment system you've got?
