Mercedes E Class
Hi all, Hope everyones doing well.

I am planning on purchasing a Mercedes E Class 2016 Saloon SE. The SE that I have found is a really nice spec with Pan roof and the single 12.3 inch screen for a reasonable price. However the only thing that is concerning me is the fact that the exterior body of the SE is less aggressive/sportier compared to the AMG Line. Other than the front lower bumper being different and different alloys, are there any other exterior difference?

Thanks all. Look forward to the replies. Ash.

Yes, as above bigger wheels and also a harder ride due to the AMG Line sports suspension.

Enjoy the creaky roof :-)

I have had 2 S212 E Classes, the first was an E300 Hybrid leased new in 2014 and was an SE range, my current car purchased new in 2016 is an S212 Night Edition so has larger wheels and different suspension set up, the difference in the way they drove and the ride was quite marked.

The SE model with softer set up and smaller wheels was fine but a little skittish on bends with uneven surface it was not unsafe by any means but you could feel the suspension patter on the surface.

The current car with larger wheels and stiffer suspension is much more planted to the road and feels much safer, the ride is certainly harder but not to any great degree and is not uncomfortable at all.

The 2017 car will no doubt be a 213 range so I cannot say regarding this range.

I was considering swapping out my CL for an E-class saloon.
Enjoy the creaky roof :)
Does the saloon creak?
I love the CL500 but it isn't very practical especially in winter, when the doors and glass freeze and I can't use it, I bought a Fiat Panda as a cheap run about for winter, but it's not the ideal solution.

My c250 didn't. No pana roof. If you use a silicone spray or gummi pflege it stops the creaking anyways, and doors don't freeze shut.
