Mercedes SL r 230 roof

Hi can anyone help my roof only opens half way I have changed the flaps but still not working I checked the roof flap motor that's working fine has anybody else had this problem?

Have you changed the rachet mechanism (14mm and 19mm spanner required) the flaps have to be flush with the boot other than that have you checked the oil level
