Our 123 towbar was fitted by MB Tooting in about 1987. It was very good and removeable. But they trashed the interior trim when installing the wiring and had to replace loads of stuff FOC.

Sadly, you won't get MB to fit one so an independent tow bar specialist is the only answer. Time for some Googling, I think.

Factory equipment was Oris . These are far and away the best option , aftermarket brackets are all somewhat agricultural and never quite right .

Worth looking on eBay , and eBay.de for a genuine one .

German for towbar is anhangerkupplung

Which variant do you have , the estate bracket is different from the saloon/coupe .

Here is one for a saloon , with back bumper included , and also the strengthening bars which reinforce the chassis legs
