MoT Failure

Following on from BTB 500's thread about failing MoT , he said he MoT'd the car early just in case and that he had to the end of the month to get it sorted. Am I not right in thinking that if your car fails MoT prior to the expiry of the previous MoT, the previous MoT becomes invalid?

No your wrong. If the car is dangerous to drive that would be different.

The previous MOT remains valid ; however you can be prosecuted for taking an unroadworthy vehicle onto the road .
