2002 S210 Avantgarde 320CDi in silver. Black leather interior
2002 S210. 178k miles. Another straight pass. Happy days.

Mines booked in a week today and I hope it's as good as my old 190e which never failed an MOT in 26 years.

I was a little concerned about having to re-visit the overtightened locking wheel nut problem but it seems they don't remove the wheels these days in fact they don't remove anything so I expect there will be comments about the under trays which cover most of the floorpan. It wasn't like that 40 years ago in my teenage years when they used to stab around underneath vigorously with an old screw driver.

If you have 210, especially a S210, my experience to date has been check around and above the rear sub-frame for rusty brake and hydraulic pipes and on the sub-frame itself. They're an absolute SOB to get at in places. Worst case scenario is sub-frame out to replace stuff. Now that would be a bitch of a job!

Its not just your car that didn't fail in 26 years. Its also down to your maintenance regime and replacement of tyres etc at the required times.
Well done!!

I've never known wheels being taken off for Mot's. With ramps etc they can see the underside clearly enough.

Thanks

I always did a pre-MOT inspection with the car on ramps and splashed some Waxoyl around. It must have impressed the Testers. Most of the MOT's were done at a back street family garage run by a couple of old guys. They always charged full price but if they found something very minor wrong they just fixed it and gave the car a pass with no extra charge.
