Mud Flaps / Splash Guards

Yes, but I hate the 'gravel rash' that develops over time. Makes cleaning easier too.

My concern would be regarding trapped moisture causing the wheel arches to rust?

An interesting proposition.
Cheap enough to take a risk (as one of the reviews said).
One of the reviews said that there is no drilling so there should be no downside to trying them as you can just take them back off if you don't like them.
I am actually tempted.

I have genuine MB mudflaps on my non-AMG S204, the fronts have been no problem, the rears I had a fixing problem with the supplied push-fits, just with the offside one. Thought I'd cured it with a different (longer) push-fit, but a few months ago noticed it had gone, no idea why as I did not hear anything while driving. Personal opinion, I'd fit them, keeps some of the muck from the wheels off the bodywork.

Would worry me too, tempted to fit mud guards myself but would smear a huge amount of 'axle' grease between the guards and the body work.

I would also remind myself to replace the 'axle' grease every year, but most likely I would keep putting it off until the guards fell off with part of the wheel arch.

But yes, I think they are worth fitting if one is diligent about the maintenance aspect.

I can't say I've ever experienced that. Being fairly flexible, you can pull away the overlap part that goes onto the wing and run a cloth down but if it's a concern, fit some adhesive clear film before attaching..... some even come with it e.g. the ones for a Vito which is more to stop them rubbing the paint (plastic front wings) but the principle's the same.

More to the question is do they actually work? The ones on the Viano are MB and MB fitted but really are of little use. The front ones keep a bit of the muck off but the rears are not effective at all. Very much in favour of the Viano but have never had a vehicle that its rear gets so plastered up with muck. The ones on the 450, front and back, are huge almost to the ground with a large white MB star on them and work really well. The conclusion from experience is that the modern ones are too small.

I asked about mud flaps/ stone guards for my CLS Shooting brake but was advised you can’t fit them on AMG models.

My car is only AMG design and I’ve noted mud flaps fitted on a CLS Coupe so where is the difference.
The bigger engine “ genuine” AMG models have different bumpers don’t they ?

Probably the additional side skirting prevents the fitting of the standard mud flaps?

Maybe ride height related too, doesn't take much of a step to smash them up and tear them off...

Have a look on Amazon, there was a thread quite a while back on problem abtaining mud flaps for IIRC a C class with AMG body kit, poster found them on Amazon.

I have a 2017 E220d S213 AMG LINE ESTATE Can mud flaps be fitted now to AMG LINE VEHICLES
