Hi

New to the site, been a lover of Mercedes for a while (ex BMW boy) and owned a few over the last couple years.
I currently own a 2020 GLE 300d in solid black.
Modified her a little bit with 23's, de-chrome, OEM AMG grill, some carbon parts - which will be like marmite to some but I can take criticism lol

Really didn’t like the chrome on the car from when I bought it and as Mercedes didn’t offered a night package I had to do it myself.

Also finding aftermarket parts for the W167 is really hard. Even simple things like lowering the car I had to go full on custom build.

Few things I feel I improved is the lower part on the rear bumper is not colour coded on any model. This had to be done.

Some good tasteful mods also. I take it it still rides like you are on a magic carpet even with 23's?

It was soft even on the 23’s until I lowered it. It’s stiffened up a bit but nothing major. Handles better but without compromising the comfort too much.

Maces, I had no doubt it would still be fine on 23's. The reason I asked is that some member frown upon larger wheels being put on any car, it's as if you were removing round wheels and installing square ones.................................."That'll ruin the ride".

Budget only allowed for us to buy a W166 and it's a dream on 21's. Great interior face lift on the W167.

I think I could’ve squeezed 24’s on here but was worried about a bumpy ride so settled for 23’s.
Haha I know my car can be frowned upon anyway. I sort of take it in my stride. I have always mucked about with cars.

only other SUV’s I’ve had is 2015 VW Touareg R-line and a 2006 Range Rover Sport sc. my friends have had X5’s, X6’s and Q7’s. For me the engine isn’t the best as I went for the entry level 300d. It’s no slouch for a big car but the engine is a bit screamie
For infotainment and interior space there’s no comparison. I think the new style Mercedes are years ahead.
