Having just bought a an AMG GTC this is my first Merc car ever. Previously I have owned a BMW 635, Audi RS3, VW Sirocco R, Lotus Emira V6, Ford Escort turbo, 2 Ford capris, Peugeot 205 GTi, Peugeot 406 Coupe, Audi Coupe GT, Mazda RX7, Fiat X19, Toyota Supra and several forgettable heaps of junk.
So far I have had it fully serviced, full valet, new Pilot Spot Cup 2 tyres and today it was polished and ceramic coated.
A year ago I looked for an AMG GT or GTS and after driving a Porsche GT4, Jag F Type V8 and a V6 supercharged Lotus Emira, it was the Emira that I ended up buying. 11 months later and countless issues, breakdowns and months in the dealership I decided to call it a day. I decide to go back to German cars after the last 9 years with the RS3 and Sirocco R were problem free. I think some things were meant to be because I never thought I would find a 1 owner car that had lived in a heated garage with such low mileage.
I knew nothing about the differences between the models and thought C meant cabriolet. After having collected it I was very happy to find out the C has 557hp, with dry sump, rear wheel steering, GTR gearing, uprated cooling with charge coolers, wider arches and wheels. When I fitted the new Cup 2 tyres I thought the rears with 305s looked stretched and after checking around found the GTR has 325s on the rear on the same 12 inch wide rims. It now has the 325 rears and 275 fronts which should help get the power down on dry hot summer days.
Looking forward to being active on the forum and asking lots of questions.
