Greetings all,

I've just picked up a new (to me) 2008 C-Class Sports Coupe C350. I've had it two weeks, and I've enjoyed it thoroughly so far. My understanding is that its a fairly rare version of the model. I was looking for a cheap run about to replace a Subaru Outback, but when I saw this and realised what it was, I had to have it.

Its technically my second Merceds Coupe, as I used to own a Smart Roadster Coupe for 5 years (ok not quite the same, but both have a frustrating Autobox and the rear hatch is similar). Plus I'm a big fan of sports Coupes, having had both a Mazda RX8 and untill two years ago a BMW E82 125i, which I still miss. However the C350 is showing signs of replacing it.

The car is leggy, and has been a little bit neglected of late. However that just gives me a project to work on. The first thing is to get rid of an MIL thats being caused by the secondry air system (a common fault I believe?). I'm waiting for the dealer I bought it from to get a replacement part in to fit. Then sort some paint scratches and dents out, and get it ready for summer and a trip to Le Mans in three months time.

Mazda RX-8 is an interesting choice, how did you get on with yours?

It was expensive to run. 17mpg at best. However it flew round Blyton Park when I was there. Croft on a wet track was different, as they really don't like wet / damp conditions.

Thanks for the welcome.
