New turbo squeal.

Hi all.
When changing the turbo for a new one would you expect it to squeal. Once you blip the throttle you hear a quick high pitch squeal. Is this normal, does it settle down, have I done something wrong to cause this, or is it a dodgy turbo. It is a new turbo.

It’s more likely a split hose, or ill fitting hose, most common are the two intercooler hoses.

Would this cause more of a whistle? This sounds more like metal on metal kind of squeal. The old turbo didn't make this sound

My new turbo is silent... the old one made the whistling noise which is why I replaced it.

Check all the seals, joints, and the actual hoses, which will cost you nothing, then if it’s not any of those, have the turbo itself checked, preferably by whoever sold it to you.
