Hi all my name is Pete from Buckinghamshire. I would like a little help please, at the moment i am looking to by a 2000 year CLK 320 rag top it has to be no newer then 2000 so i can get it on Classic cover. I have seen and drivin 3 all have slight bubbling on one of the rear arch. The car that grabs me the most, is a Silver 320 rag top, 0ne owner car recording 57000 miles, with 4 stamps in the book but only three back mots, this car only has a very slight pimple on the inner lip of one back arch. gray leather trim no pips or holes but slightly dirty. I have drove the car seem s ok but before i hand over £6500 of my money . what eles do i need to look for. Many thanks for your help Pete.

Don't let the prospect of running a V8 put you off either, as the fuel consumption difference between a 320 and a 430 is very negligable.

Mine's got a warrnaty until June also, so you get some piece of mind!

Thanks guys, i did the vosa check on the silver CLK 320 cab, and it is only 57000 miles. It looks like it has had both front springs done over its last two MOTs so going back to Kent, to have a 2nd look think i might go for it.

You V8 looks great but i have brought the 320 cab from Kent, drove it back for kent today seems fine no issues full MB history. Hope it will be a good one, well its too late now if i have a pup.

Hi Pete,my previous mb was a 2002 clk320 cab so can give you a few pointers.Firstly check(very carefully all 4 wheelarches especially the inside of the lips,around the boot lock & below the trim above the rear number plate).The car you are looking at sounds a bit pricey & only 4 services on a car thats nearly 11 years old thats not too clever.(i would also question why there is only 3 mot's when there should be at least 7,i think you can check the previous mot history/mileages on dvla's website)If it hasn't already been done then the atf/filter will need doing(somewhere around £250).Also make sure the aircon is icy cold & works properly(these w208's do suffer from condensor problems causing leaks & can be expensive to repair).Lastly if you arte not 100% happy find another one there's plenty out there for sale

Thanks Steve, have checked and VOSA and miles a right at 57000, and the is 5 stamps in book. both front coil springs just done, only one arch has a a little pimple, but i will get that done, VERY SOON. It is only going to do about 2/3000 miles a year.
