Hi all,
New member, very brief history of my Mercedes history. Owned a 2016 CLA45 shooting brake, 24K miles when purchased, did 10K mikes in 2 years of ownership and absolutely loved that car.
About 7 weeks ago, part exchanged for a 2018 E63 estate, from Mercedes dealership. After 3 weeks back with the dealer who was rectifying various issues, car came back to me on Thursday. Car was sent back to dealer later that day as at least one of the faults had not been sorted out. However, a couple of other issues appeared that I hadn’t previously noticed. One being the HUD now appears with multicoloured lines! The bigger issue for me is that there now appears to be a significant ticking/clicking noise from front left side of engine bay. Only became aware of noise as engine was on when I was outside of the car. I have attached a picture of the unit/part that the noise appears to be coming from. I would be really grateful if anyone could tell me (mechanically ignorant) what that part is, please?
Many thanks in anticipation from frustrated owner.
