Hi,

just recently while on motorway got EML on and took it too mechanic and too many previous generic codes showing so was told to let EML come back on and it will show the real fault with the car.

So it did today and took it to mechanic and it shows code P220E77 NOX sensor 1 bank 1 heating (specified position not reached) and below that it states P220400 NOX sensor (bank 1) (sporadic fault)

I have been reading up on it and mechanic told me to get nox sensor replaced. I am just wondering will this be the issue? My adblue is just below half and service due in 2 months which im going to get from MBNot from my local mechanic who is going to potentially fix the NOX sensor

So with adblue just below half. The EML has been reset and i’m wondering if i top up my adblue too full will this make it any better? Any suggestions on what i can do before i get it repaired as will i need to or otherways out of it.

i want to avoid paying big bills if it’s unnecessary. But if it its just something that has deteriorated over time then i will change it. Please let me know

this is my c220d 2016 amg line w205 42k on clock
Thanks!

Just called MB as I’ve got service plan with them and booked it in for June 2021. I raised my concerns with them and informed them I have nox sensor issue and i’m worried to drive it with EML on to June 2021 so next week got it booked in for service and lovely women on phone mentioned regarding the nox sensor/EML that service team will do an update i believe to remove the EML and if that doesn’t do the trick then MB will fix it for me. So fingers crossed, car does not also have warrenty. But full MBSH

Bought a 62 Plate Merc ML at the beginning of May. A week ago I got message something like "1,700 miles before AdBlue runs out". I filled AdBlue to the brim. EML light still on. Tried all the tricks on the web to turn it off. No Go. Next day "600 miles engine won't restart". Took it to MB Oxford today. They are getting 2 Nox sensors for the end of the week. They want £1,871.52. and will have to remove exhaust. 3.8 hours
Does anyone have the part numbers for the nox sensors and the adblue tank

Update post.

I got my service done quickly start of May and told them about my EML light. They said they will do an update on the car and that should work. Well day before service was due the EML turned off and went to MB told them. Service was complete and update on vehicle was done and was told sorted. Next day driving it came back on, i rang them and they said bring it in next week we will diagnose and sort it out. This is 66plate car. Out of warranty just service plan I have with MB. They sorted it out changed only one nox sensor and was told it’s all sorted and took them about 45 minutes to do.
I was cheeky to ask how much would this of cost me and they said roughly £600-700

Please everyone if you get this issue fixed for free from mercedes, name the garage and where the garage is ,so other people may get some help from them.

I haven't used one but I think tat this £300 gadget overrides the EML message that says "You won't be able to restart in xxx miles
I guess it would be handy to keep in the car to keep you on the road.
Just wondered if anyone has tried this gadget............It's on YOU TUBE
