2016 Vito tourer W447 extra long
I have a 2016 vito tourer with a issue with nox sensor 2. My question/s are is there still a common problem with Nox sensors?
Is it recognised by Mercedes?(service bulletin). I had the recall work done late last year for the emission fiasco and within the letter that came it states that should a fault appear within two years of the recall that is consequential to the recall Mercedes will rectify at their cost, anyone experienced this please? TIA

I had the recall done on my W205 in Jan 2020 before any letter was issued. Please can someone send a copy of the letter? Naturally without your contact details.

Just an update on NOX sensors. Since the new NOx sensors and software update undertaken on my Merc Jan 2020, the engine management light has come on many times. The RAC found fault code P229f NOx sensor 2 bank1 (on two occasions). Back to MB dealers mid last year and said they'd sorted it out. The sensors were apparently ok but the Adblue meetering unit was slightly blocked so they cleaned it (FOC). 4 weeks later engine light again on with same codes P229f. As I was at the other end of the country I erased the code myself as I was doing 450 miles a week (motorway) and could not get a suitable appointment with the dealer but again came on 3 weeks later, this has happened about 8 times over a period of about 8 months. The last straw was a warning to say I would not be able to start the car after 495 miles due to the ECU not being able to read Adblue content. (this is because of NOx fault apparently) Anyway, Finally I was able to book the car into MB down south with engine light on. They found both sensors were faulty so replaced under extended warranty. I believe they've fitted third generation NOx sensors. Fingers crossed I hope the saga is now over. I'll keep you posted!
