Om651 Throttle valve

Hi guys

Anyone know what range/value Throttle value should operate at ? On my Vito w447 om651 trying to fix low boost fault
On live date stream Throttle valve stays at 0.03% On idle & when driving will not increase does this indicate a fault ? Thanks.

Nope.....no throttle valve on a direct injection derv.....engine speed is controlled purely by injector fuel pressure and duration. What they describe as a throttle is more correctly known as a shutter valve or and anti shudder valve when its on a modern diesel. It wont move in normal driving.....its usually fully open (but may close slightly when the EGR is in use to increase flow through it). It shuts off when you switch the engine off to close off air flow and create a vacuum to stop that shudder you get on old school dervs when you switch them off.
