Could anyone tell me what D/E-NET means. I have this fitted from factory and was considering replacing the audio 20 cd player with an aftermarket stereo with Bluetooth and sat nav. I don't like Android auto etc for navigation!
I do have a stand-alone sat nav but when I put it on the dash board it obstructs my view through the windscreen too much.

It means you have a GSM antenna on the car. D-netz and E-netz were the early German telecoms network. It makes no difference for what you wish to do.

So it is a telephone only shark fin antenna, nothing to do with GPS or DAB?

Yes. Phone only. There’s no dab antenna on your car. There’s gps with a HRS connector if you have COMAND (but you don’t). If your new radio has a gps antenna put it on top of the instrument cluster but below the dashboard (it sees through plastic and glass but not metal).

Many thanks for the clear explanation, what a shame, more research needed for the time being then👍
