Mercedes C180
I have an issue with my C180 C204 BlueEFFICIENCY AMG.
What happens is that shortly after driving off the cars the Command stereo screen/ABS/traction control/electronic parking brake lights would come on for about 5 seconds and the power steering temporarily cuts out. After the 5 seconds the lights go off and the steering returns. After the lights and other issues the vehicle will drive normally. The lights and faults do vary from start up to start up. I did a scan of the vehicle and error code P2505 ECM/PCM power input signal came up. The battery has been changed since the issue arose without any change.
Any ideas?

an old thread i know but this is the same as my car atm, shame he didn't come back with the results :(

As a basic check I don't know if you've checked your auxiliary battery? I was having low voltage P codes and car going into limp mode. Main battery was fine but when I checked the auxiliary it was toast. I believe that the car relies on both working well to avoid strain on the main battery if not can result in dodgy power readings to the ECM.

I.m an idiot !!!! ive known about the rear battery for a while now and been meaning to check it, just done it now and its showing 10.4V  so its now on charge and see if it'll recover.

if it needs replacing what do you guys use ?

Mine was at 7.4V!! I charged it fully knowing that it was dead but wanted to test whether it was causing the fault as it was happening 5 mins into every trip. Kept charging it every night for 3 days and the car drove perfectly, battery obviously wouldn't hold charge so replaced it with an Exide EK131 for £35, meets all the same spec as the Mercedes one and has been fine since.

nice one, thanks bud 👍

well it looks like a trip to Halfords, the charger come up with "bad" :(

well i put it back on charge and it came up "full" so put it back on the car and everything's working :) but I will get a new one as i don't know if it'll hold a charge, plus its the one that came with the car.

Great! I can recommend the Exide battery if you can find one local or online. But you can buy the OEM one around £100.
