Hi - i have a 2004 s211 E class estate which does not have parktronic but does have rear parking sensors which look to me to be oem. They are rear only. They worked for a while but not when reverse is selected i just get a series of rapid warning beeps and then nothing.

I cannot seem to connect via MBCarsoft so Im wondering if this setup is aftermarket. Did MB offer rear parking sensors which were not parktronic as I cannot seem to connect to that system.

Any ideas welcome before I take the bumper off to look around.

I should also add I have no button on the shifter housing to switch the system off as you get on the parktronic cars.

That is an aftermarket system.

Parktronic was front and rear, it will also have a little LED display on the top of the dash and on the headliner at the rear of the vehicle.

MB did offer a rear only system, Park assist. I had it on my 2005 S203. Only display was leds mounted above the tailgate, visible in the RVM, it also beeped when approaching an obstacle.
There was no on/off button.

Thanks - ive looked closer and the sensors whilst well fitted are not factory flush. They are also very low down and accessible without removing the bumper. Thats also likely why they failed as they are not well protected from dirt and water.

Thanks again for the help. I dont have any visual indicators either. My other car has parktronic so I know that system.
