Passenger door sticking

A few moths ago I had problems trying to open the passenger door which would eventually resolve later in the day. I put this down to effects of very cold mornings. However this issue continues and seems to be getting worse despite a good squirt of WD 40. The mechanism sounds like it works when locking and unlocking, and the door lock/unlock button goes up and down as it should.
Any ideas please?

Just thought it might be coupe, where the window has to drop a little before the door can be opened, that’s why I asked which car it was.
