Hello, for the uninitiated what does the "Comfort control unit" do?

I ask because the passenger door window of my '94 MB E-class Coupe has begun to open and close (and then open and stay that way) without any interference or button pressing from me or anyone else for that matter even after the auto-electrician says he has isolated it so it cannot be opened! He said there is a unit behind the centre console which controls this but there are several different ones and he does not know which to get and could not read the part number on the one in situ. I have been on ebay and found a comfort control unit item but do not know if this is the correct unit to get. Anyone able to help? Regards Roger

Not sure if this helps Roger. I had a similar problem in my 2016 C Class. Real pain as drivers window had a mind of its own especially if it’s a wet or very cold day.
after searching the web I discovered that the window button can fail and cause the problem. Solution is to use a flat blade and pop off the button. There are several YouTube videos about this. Replacing the whole switch is not required just search EBay for replacement button. I fixed mine for about £3. The button pops in and problem solved.

Hello, thank you. That's a reasonably cheap repair which hopefully will work. I'll give it a go. Regards Roger
