I have a card in the dash just below the comand, it says on it PCMCIA card adapter, it's about the same size as a credit card. There is an SD card in it what is its purpose ? the SD card is 16 gig btw.

It's to save music to your music register (internal memory), it will either be 4, 6 or 10 gig. I've not seen them any other size than that.

The "4, 6 or 10" refers to the internal music memory, took me a while to understand that.

One should be able to play music from the card itself (too).

Yes I did not realise the music register was an Hard drive till I started playing about with it, the penny dropped after a while.
