Anyone else noticed a micro camera/sensor on the (GLC) Command inbuilt display?

Put finger over it (see photo) but display didn’t darken so not an ambient light sensor.

Any knowledgable ideas ??

Not separate, embedded within glass just like a laptop camera/sensor 🤷‍♂️

I could be wrong, but I think that is the receiver eye for infra red remote control
Mmm? Wasn’t aware of such functionality,
What would it be used for, by service technicians ??

Sensor for the MBUX assistant, to pick up your hand near the screen or moving around the centre console

Hmm, but would it be?
it’s a Command screen(pre MBUX)

It’s a micro camera for monitoring your centre console and rear arm rest. Young mums have known about this for some time and that’s why they carry those huge insulated mugs and bottles every where they go. When they get in the car they pop them in the cup holder and block the view of the micro camera, thwarting the plans of those seeking to observe.

Just checked out the little dot on my s205 COMAND screen. With my finger over the dot the satnav screen dimmed. Handy if going through tunnels in the alps. I expect night mode requires the headlight sensor on the windscreen to have a low light level so turning on the headlights and turning the nav screen night mode on.
