2013 Black MERCEDES-BENZ CLS 5.5 CLS63 BlueEFFICIENCY AMG Shooting Brake 7G-Tronic Plus (s/s) 5dr for sale for £29500

says it is going to px at the end of the month. I can't help feeling the px value will be quite a long way from 30k. EvansHalshaw say 22400. I tend to find they are better than WBAC.

I wonder just how much movement there might be to still exceed the px offer.
It does look very nice and well specced.
Looks lovely. His part exchange valuation may not be “book price”. If he’s sensitive to part exchange valuation then the salesperson may have set up the deal so that he’s paying “list price” on the new car, and maximising the part exhange valuation, ie switching discount for greater part exchange valuation. If it’s an expensive car, especially a new expensive car, then the available discount could easily be £8k.

I dare say there is some room to negotiate, but if there’s a flat refusal then you know why.

If your serious in purchasing, Why not give the seller a call? And see how he talks when it comes to pricing and gives you a feel what your up against..

Obviously if he’s tight fisted, Don’t think he’d come down thousands of pounds. I’ve had it myself previously on a few purchases, where the owners have said Just rather P/X to avoid any hassles or inconvenience. Which turned out to be true

It’s a nice spec car with very low mileage. Still has a MB warranty too :)

I’d have thought the p/x would be nearer £25k +/- depending on the overall deal offered. £29500 isn’t an unrealistic starting price considering everyone wants to get something off the price of a car being advertised.

Often cars like this will sell for a bit better than book to someone who values the condition or spec.

Let’s face it, even at the asking price it’s a lot of (low mileage/hardly used/almost new!) car relative to what it was new!

What’s an average spec/mileage CLS63 SB sell for by way of comparison? I’d have thought £20k+ easily. There’s one a year newer (‘14) with similar mileage in white being retailed by MB Sheffield for £36,750, but the black one has a better spec.

Go and see it, looks like a great car to me :thumb:

I don't believe that to be a Performance Pack optioned car. Standard brakes, no Alcantara insert on the steering wheel. I would check the full spec off the VIN

Yes, well spotted - maybe confused with the 557hp vs. Earlier bi-turbos 525 or whatever it was? No idea what the CLS63 was or when they changed over?

There’s some more pics here I just found:

MERCEDES BENZ CLS63 AMG V8 Edition One -

Looks like the previous selling garage were a bit confused too, although still undoubtedly a nice car :thumb:

Just seen the current owner has modded the rear diffuser (carbon?) not sure if there’s anything else different.

Thanks for the info all. Cazana thinks it has had 3 mots this year which is odd. 2013 appears to be the power change so 525/550 pre and 550/577 afterwards. This would be a 14 my so 550 is a stock car.
Can anyone run the vin? I seem to have lost that ability. Thanks

4 MoTs in 2018 if you include the number plate spacing failure.

Evans Halshaw from my experience aren’t a bad outfit , they offered me £1k more than MB (or any other main brand dealer or WBAC ) were offering against a C63 and only marked my car up by £1k over what they paid me. You can get the cash same day for a fee of £15 or wait 36/48 hours under normal banking. They even ran me home after dropping my car off. Checking a car against EH is not a bad way to find out what the trade in value is (unless you have something unusual which doesn’t fit with their mainstream buying activities.

Personally think it's priced as if it was on a MB dealer forecourt at £29500! There are other out there from garages for similar prices. I would think a more realistic part ex would be around the £25k mark. Just my 2p worth.

I thought that ‘63 SBs were pretty rare, I only found one other with similar mileage (but lower spec) and it was over £7k more?

Advertised price is surely higher than the part ex value otherwise why would he bother. And if he was offered £25k in part ex and advertised at that amount you can guarantee people would be ringing up offering £22k etc anyway :D

You’ve got to start somewhere :)

Quite a rare beast but price looks on the toppy side to me for a private sale.

I think it would be definitely worth a chat with the seller if you’re genuinely interested though, can’t hurt anything.

Here's the spec if interested

That car could be being sold by a trader masquerading as a private seller. Three MoTs this year? Why on earth would a private seller do that? Traders, however, put new MoTs on cars when they put them up for sale... Ask if he has a V5 in his name, and how long he's had the car. At best not long, I think; if he's not a trader, he'll have bought it in June or July 2018, and put a new MoT on himself just to be sure. Why is he selling it so soon, though?

I wonder how much he would want for this one:

2014/14 Mercedes-Benz CLS63 AMG 5.5 Blue F ( s/s ) Shooting Brake 7G-T Plus | eBay

which has been for sale for ages? Either BobbyDazzler is right about the stated p/x offer, or the vendor is telling fibs about it.

If you're interested, give him a call and discuss it. If it's plain you're a genuine buyer, not some tosser looking to make a quick buck, and he takes you seriously, he'll have to drop his price if he actually wants to sell it; this is a bad time of year to sell a car.

I still haven’t seen any with such low mileage or good spec for a lower price though?

The red one is an unusual colour but still higher mileage and lower spec. And it’s £2.5k more?

As said I’m sure there’s room for negotiation, if he wants to sell it. The CLS SB is both an unusual and niche car, which works in its favour and also against it. You either want one or you don’t - I like the rarity and the looks are appealing but the lack of load space puts me into an E-class estate. They didn’t sell many of them, which demonstrates the appeal for them - but at less than £30k perhaps a number of enthusiasts will see it as a good proposition.

If I could live with the load space of the SB and didn’t already have my E63 I’d certainly consider it. Private sale wouldn’t put me off at all, especially as it’s got a MB warranty. I’m sure you could arrange an inspection instead if you were seriously contemplating buying it

And here's the black one when last sold, some time (June or July, I think) earlier this year:

I don’t think it’s a trader selling it. The MOTs were carried out last summer. Strange they were done a month apart (especially as the last two passed were both without any faults or advisories) - maybe the garage who sold it last wanted to do their own MOT pre-sale for peace of mind? Or the person who last owned it mislaid the test printout?

Who knows, it’s being sold now with 3k miles more on the clock and the price is £6.5k lower so doesn’t seem likely that someone has bought it looking to make a profit.
