Hello,

Since getting my W204 a little while ago I have noticed a rattle/vibration coming from somewhere in the car when going over certain bumps and rough bits of road. Tonight I found it and it is from the comand system, but only when it is ON. The plastic cover appears to be the culprit.

Does anyone know if there is a known fix for this problem please
??

Thanks, Bill

Does it come from somewhere near the mesh next to the nav screen?

If so, funny you should mention it as mine is in for service and a couple of tyres tomorrow so i've asked them to look at this also.

Mine is pre facelift. It appears to me to emanate from the plastic comand cover which, when on, sits behind the screen. When off no rattle - I drove the same stretch of road about ten times to figure this out!

Sorry, my bad.

My previous car was also a pre facelift and I remember having the same problem but only on a hot day.

Never bothered to get it sorted as I just put it down to the elaborate mechanism of the cover.

Searching the net it appears 'dashboard' rattles are not unheard of on w204s. couldn't find too much on comand cover though. Will see what local garage says when get service done. At least I've found position of rattle rather than have them ride about for hours trying to pinpoint it.

Hello. Having the same problem with the cover. Did you find a;y solution?

I had the same problem with mine!! I used some Wurth silicone spray on all the vents!! Next to the command screen, and the vents at the bottom of the windscreen!! My dash doesn't make any noise know, Prob just two pieces of dry plastic rubbing!!
