Rear foglight switching with automatic lighting.

Quick questions.
On cars with the main lighting controlled automatically - how is the rear foglight switched on when needed? Automatically or does it have its own switch and have to be enabled manually? If manual, is it reset automatically or will it subsequently illuminate whenever the dipped beams are deployed?

There's a separate switch.

If not switched off manually, it resets when the ignition is next turned off.
