Hi I've got a 2019 C lass W204 and I can't get the rear passenger door open from the inside or outside. I've got the rear seats out of the way but I don't think that's going to get me access to the lock. I'm trying to replace the actuator which I know is gone. Having spent a fortune on the suspension I'm loathe to take it into the workshop as I'm told "there will be damage". Any ideas?

We have cut the exterior door handle off and got in that way in the past.

Is it cheaper than cutting a hole on the door card inside?

I’m going about it the long and hard way. Taken off the door panel and drilled, hammered and tugged at the lock. Almost done. Once I complete it I’ll share the tools. I definitely recommend a solid SDS hammer drill with long drill bits.

Just wondering ...

if you have removed the rear seats and moved the front seat forward out of the way , even then possibly removing other interior trim around the door if possible , does this expose the door card enough to allow it to be removed with the door closed ?

The other option would be to search breakers to find someone breaking a car with the same interior as yours then get the door card from that car . You could then destroy your existing door card to get access to the innards of the door .

I know from past experience with W124 , W126 and W201 cars that if the door lock mechanism becomes 'sticky' and won't open readily from either inside or outside , then sometimes a sharp tug on the exterior handle will get it to open ; you could also try lying on your back inside the car , with your feet towards the stuck door , get an assistant to hold the interior handle in the open position and put a cushion in front of the door to prevent damage , then give it a good kick with both feet as close to the lock as possible . If you can also place something like a tennis ball under the external handle to hold it in the open position ; rather than have a person stand there who might be hit by the door if it flies open , then all the better . Sounds brutal , but that just may jar it open . With the door opened , you can then certainly remove the door card to get at the lock .
