rear shock

hello all, I sure hope someone can help please.
I have a 2008 2.2 c class sport AMG styling my local garage has told me I need a new offside rear shock.
it was a shock at £500.00 it has the electrics on the shock. if I disconnect the wires and fit normal shocks
will this cause any problems with lights on the dash ?

Unfortunately your car is fitted with Mercedes Dynamic Handling Package with electronically valved shocks.
W204 Front Shock Absorber wiring
TENNECO are marketed in Europe as Monroe.
You need to find a Monroe stockist and check against your chassis no.
e.g. example here but check against your chassis no before ordering IIRC there are different part nos left and right

I was going to say that dampers should always be replaced in pairs, but then I saw the price....

thanks grober, I have 2 on the way at £315.00. still going to cost me best part of £500.00 fitted, but I get 2 done for that, so not bad
