Revs hunting and loss of power

Hi,

Been noticing recently the revs in my w204 c220 cdi have been hunting on idle. Also when driving and the revs are at 2000rpm when i put my foot down it doesn't move quick there is a slight delay, the revs hunt and it over revs... seems very lumpy if that's a proper term.

Anyone got any thoughts. No codes stored on ecu.

Did you use Star to check for codes?
