S211 Load cover issue

Hi all,

Can anyone shed some light on my auto load cover issue please.

I have the overrun (Machine gun) issue when the cover goes down. It lasts for approx 10 secs.

I have checked all the usual culprits.

Batteries (Both new AGM)
Reed switch. Checked with a magnet and continuity at 2 pin plug and all is fine. The circuit is made when a magnet is near the reed switch.
Magnet is not missing in the load cover.

So, now I am totally lost as to where to check next

Do the covers run via a relay (Maybe sticking)?

Is there anywhere else to check as it an earthing point / ecu / something?

Soft close on tailgate is working fine.

Any help would be appreciated. After many years of excellent service the car is going to a new home and the person is disabled so the boot will be used for a wheelchair.

I have no idea but am surprised that no other forum member has responded, hopefully this might spur some further helpful responses
