What do Germans do when they're bored? They apparently build a 400 meter (1,312 feet) long slot car track through a 2010 Mercedes E-Class Estate.

Initially planned out on a computer, the massive 1275-piece track was built in a single day. Stretching 500 square meters, the track fills the entire 1950 liter (68.9 cubic feet) trunk as well as virtually everything else.

Boasting 1:32 scale DTM-style slot cars, a good "driver" can race around the track in about 4 minutes and 45 seconds.

I think it would be better if someone made a Scalectrix Nurburgring - I guess you would need an aircraft hanger though...

I was at Brooklands when they were building/filming this! It goes for miles right round the Brooklands track!

just out of interest, anyone good at maths who can work out the relative speed of the cars on the track?
I'm useless at that sort of sums.
