Scratched my bumper on a white wall, the car's paint isn't damaged as you can see in the photo. Is wd40 a good option for removing it?

Well I would T cut it,or any rubbing compound you have will remove the white, and if you do have a few small scratches it might remove those as well.

I highly recommend this.

T-Cut and other abrasive compounds should only be used after initial non-abrasive treatment

So WD40 should always your first option for minor scratches.

It is cheap, non-abrasive, and harmless, so there's nothing to lose by trying it.

And, even if it doesn't 'fix' the scratch, it will remove foreign paint residue and will allow to see what is the actual damage (which will often be much smaller than it seemed).

But remember to remove the WD40 film using car wash or mild alcohol swabs before applying the next treatment or painting.

Here is the resukt from the WD40 any suggestions how to remove this scrathes? Or have to repaint it?

Try the t cut or other abrasive compound first and see. It’s the only way you’ll find out before phoning the body shop.

If the scratch is only in the lacquer you may be able to polish it out if you’re very careful not to go through to the paint underneath. I’ve had good results with Meguiars Scratch X but you have to go careful and check often. Merc lacquer is quite hard. You may at least be able to reduce the visibility of it and then use a glaze like Poorboys Black Hole before waxing on top. Or bite the bullet and pay a body shop to have a look and sort it.

I think a light polish will remove 95-100% of that.

Personally I use the 3M anti-hologram (Ultrafina SE) because it's a professional polish and the lowest level of abrasion. You may have to polish for longer but less likely to cut through the lacquer.

With marks like that on a few friends cars 10 mins with the 3M polish (using an electric polisher) generally has done the job.

I’d first try one of the black cleaner/wax/polish products like Poorboys Black Hole as Chris said above. I used Turtle Wax Black Box kit a couple of years ago to remove scratches left by white van man. After a few weeks of going over the area after every wash the scratches completely disappeared. They start to faintly reappear after about a year as the black wax washes out of the scratches, but a single application fills them in again. I much prefer this approach to using a scratch remover that also removes some of your good paintwork.
