New owner of an SL320r129 1998 which had come minus its Secondary air injections pump and auxilliaries. Does anyone have a diagram showing the complete system.
Exactly what I am trying to confirm, but I am slightly confused as you will see from photo the circular bracket and the electrical connection and earth are also in situ. The pump fuse is missing in the main fuse box.
Pretty sure I’ve seen some like that before, like it’s pre installed for it but does have the function.
If you ask your local Mercedes parts dept they should tell you if it’s applicable or not.
Hi
My C43 1998 was exactly the same empty bracket and electrical connector, M113 V8 engine, same family of engines as your M112 V6.
It wasn't till about 2001 when these engines got secondary air systems in the UK.

These devices are not retrospective so if it wasn't fitted from factory back then it doesn't require it now. If you mean are modern petrol engines fitted with them now there are other methods to achieve similar results e.g. on some forced induction engines an air injector valve bleeds off a small amount of air via an ecu timed valve from the inlet piping before the throttle body to achieve the same thing.
ps these pumps were known popularly "smog pumps" in the USA
