Hello, I need some help..a friend of mine has got a R129 which he claims is a SL73..the SL has got the AMG kit, exhaust, rims, meters, also AMG special paint but no badging or engine cover stating thats its a SL73..is there any way of finding out if its a actually SL73, as when checked the chassis number it refers it as a SL600, as i have read back in those days the chassis numbers did not reflect that it was a AMG.

Would really appreciate if anyone could help me out.

Send AMG an email with the vin number and they will be able to help
Don't think there's such thing as AMG special paint

I don't have a definitive answer but I believe the SL73 was based on an SL600 donor car before being uprated?
