Hi guys.
Have a 2002 C240 with just under 37,000 on the clock and is due its first ATF /Filter, Gasket and Fluid change. ( may even replace the sump plug too )
Pilot bushing has been replaced 4 months ago, which fixed a moderate leak. So all good there.

I checked the levels last weekend, and they are where they were 3 months ago, so no major issue there :). Car drives and shifts lovely, no issue at all.
Checked at close to 80c as per my digital thermometer. Levels were toward the top.

Only concern is now and again, after a longish drive, I feel a couple of small drops of ATF toward the back of the sump ( on the sump itself ).
It is always at the back of the sump, never at the front or side.

I am hoping it is just the gasket seeping and not the rear seal - as I would not be willing to pay a shed load of money to have the seal replaced. The gasket I can do myself no issues.
My car does not have the Parking Pawl ( PLIL ). So it is either the gasket, or the rear seal

Any ideas as to whether the likelihood is the gasket or not ? As I say, it is very very mild seepage, so extremely difficult to establish where it is from.
Thanks.

Probably gasket ?? and the oil is migrating towards the back because of wind when driving .

The transmission has not ben serviced in 19 years ! ? OK it's low mileage and this was of the era where MB tried to kid everyone it was 'sealed for life ' Maybe they were right after all !! :p

Most MB transmission services are either distance and/or time .

But it seems to be working fine , so what's not to like . 👍

Never been serviced so nearly 23 years !
As said I have done the pilot bush already, the ATF is healthy looking just dark red. No concern there just a slight seep now and again.

They do say 37500 miles for the transmission service
