Does anybody know how to gain access to the 3rd brake light on a SKL171 please the boot lock mechanism appears to be in the way do I need to remove it. Any help appreciated

Hi Im trying to gain access to the 3rd backlight in my slk 171 to inspect it I have an intermittent fault were it will stop working I have the cover off but the boot lock mechanism appears to be in the way do I need to remove it please any help appreciated
