Hi there,I need to remove the drivers seat because the base seems to have collapsed, is there anything I need to know, do I need to disconnect battery? Regards simon

Welcome.

You may need to move the seat forward and backward to get at the fixings so leave the battery connected upto that point but before you disconnect any plugs etc beneath the seat you do need to disconnect the battery..

Does the car have side airbags built into the seat?

If so then not only disconnect the battery buy then leave it for an hour or so for any residual charge to dissipate.

Hi there, thank you for reply, don’t know if it has air bags in seat or not,it’s an r171 2008?

It seems the base on the drivers side has come adrift, the outer edge dips and creaks as you get in and out? Has anyone had this and knows the cure? Thank you regards Simon
