Hi any info would be great thanks . I got a E280 v6cdi auto sport not long done the oil cooler seals. Replaced all other gaskets n seals while doing the job . Got the car with the oil cooler leak got told it was leaking for a while and smokes a lot when sitting idle. Also the turbo intake (batwing) was broken on the under side. So I’m wondering if it’s poss there’s been a load of oil getting into turbo also into exhaust system. It’s got minimal smoke when driving even when giving it a boot. But as soon as it’s been sitting running for 10+ mins it starts to smoke. As if it’s getting the whole exhaust system hot enough to start burning any oil that’s in there ?? Any one had any similar problems with no smoke but if left idling will smoke cheers Daz

Is the smoke coming out from the exhausts, or from the engine bay?

Exhaust bud but I could drive about for 1-2hours in town and get a little bit every now and then. But as soon as I leave it idle for 10 ish mins it’ll start smoke but will clear with in a couple of mins driving again

And tbh who I got the car off would have drove it with it smoking and the oil cooler leaking aswel as the broken batwing seal so if it’s poss the oil going in turbo would prob be a lot as they didn’t know think I’m just hoping there’s a load of oil burning off in the exhaust cheers for your reply

Blue exhaust smoke is often down to worn turbo oil seals- that or a blocked oil return line or excessive crankcase pressure causing oil return backup.

Would/could this be a possible cause for the smoke after 10mins of idle I know it won’t help the matter any but wonder if this could be the main cause cheers for ur help
