Are most MB drivers the archetypal pipe and slippers, golf playing, grey pound retirees these days? Or is the car appealing to a younger clientele?? When I picked my car up from the Merc showroom there was a big magazine rack which included many copies of Golfing World (or some such thing), possibly Gardening World too.

Just wondering what niche to put myself into, I am not a spring chicken any more, ok I'm a bit grey (well a lot ), but I don't play golf, and consider myself quite young (in the head anyway ;)) - fitter than all my kids, can drive a tractor and JCB, ride a motorbike, love walking my dogs, and can shear sheep :D:D:D. Oh and am female

In order to be successful I think Mercedes need both longstanding mature well-to-do customers, and new-to-the-brand whippersnapper bad-ass would-be-rappers. There are enough of both - and demographics in-between - for Mercedes to do things to appeal to both.

I'm half way between the two. I'm silver but bad to the bone.

Well, I'm 61, play golf and am retired. So now I fit the 'old fart' MB driver profile. Not exactly pipe and slippers though.

Good to hear that there are variables :D. I don't think I fit any particular mould though, pretty much do my own thing!

In this case... may I recommend the Massey Ferguson owners' club? :)

60 this year (hence my forum name) . . . . but had my first Merc at about 40. Think most of the youngsters prefer their BMWs and Audis . . . . .

The only club going in the back of my E class estate are of the biscuit type for the dogs when they do as they are told, which is rare as Ive an autistic Alsatian and a hunter killer springer [emoji3]

I’m in the right age group though, 50+ and getting more like Victor Meldrew every day according to Mrs Meldrew .

Owned my first Mercedes in my mid-thirties,now on no.6.

Have driven a tractor, owned motorbikes for 40+ years, still got 2,but have never sheared sheep!

But I have de-horned a cow!!

And still not grey (yet).

I am almost 66 , don`t own a pair of slippers or a pipe , but definitely grey haired and ( a little ) overweight. Never been to a golf club , other than for a soul night . I did once hear it said that female Merc drivers were either farmers or bag ladies but choose to believe they are a rather more eclectic mix. I still work four days a week , and this year will be going to a 4 day scooter rally , a Rolling Stones concert , and Rhyl with 7 grandkids and their slightly better behaved parents. ( no , not taking them all to see the Stones , only the older ones!) . In August I am getting a Porsche Boxster to replace my 450SL . Last weekend I replaced the roof over my decking , and in the past few weeks have wallpapered my eldest sons dining room , built a new shed and done a few jobs on the SL. So to answer your question , yes we all fit the mould! Lovely dog by the way , and I would say you look more blonde than grey! The rich people will be along in a minute with their points of view. You may have to wait a while for the detailers, they are still busy polishing. Oh , welcome to the forum by the way.

I'm 39, Car's are a Hobby, interest. Anything MB is my passion i skip nice holidays so i can afford to own and run a Mercedes haha. the Majority of my Money go's on paying my mortgage and Mercs lol.

Welcome to the forum.

I was 35 when I bought my first Merc and am on my second now at 42.

I very much don't fit the stereotype in any way - as Gav above, cars are a hobby for me.

I think a few are surprised at seeing what I drive.

This is me, I have a full sleeve tattoo, tattoos on my legs and I always wear shorts and flip flops, I have a top knot hair cut!

Not sure I fit the typical Mercedes stereo type.

Ban me then. See if I care.

You are an evil bully. I'll happily say it on here for you to edit or remove.

You've proved your immature attitude with your post and you'll prove you run this site with a dangerous attitude by your next actions.

Happy days.

Coolest car I have seen on here though so all is forgiven!
