Hi all hopefully someone can help wanting to get a spare wheel and tyre instead of that sealed my car has staggered wheels so what size do i go for the same size as the front ones and if so would it fit on the rear ok obviously I would only be using it to get me home forgot to say the car is a w205 c class

There’s been a lot of posts recently regarding this topic, just have a look back. You will find the answer I’m sure.

Thanks for that Rubyred but I already done that but that didn’t help

If not getting a space saver, then a wheel similar to the front wheels will be fine.

Incidentally, as long as the circumference of the wheel with the fitted tyre is roughly the same as the other four wheels, the spare can be any size wheel, really.

For example, I bought a car once (not MB) with 17" alloy wheels, and the spare was a 15" 'iron' wheel - all factory fitted.

my thinking is....... if you use a FRONT wheel then if you get a flat on the front it will still steer the same and no limit on how fast you go. (limit on a space saver) but won't make much difference on the driving wheels.

Hi my front wheels and tyres are 225/40/19 so if I got a spare one the same size as the front and I got a puncture on the rear would it fit ok as the rear wheel is 255/35/19 and would i be able to just to use the same wheel bolts

hi my fronts

It would be fine for temporary use. Most Space saver wheels are considerably smaller than the wheel and tyre combination fitted

As long as the offset is the same or close the bolts should also be fine.

If your aim is to be able to continue and drive the car at the legal speed limit even when the spare wheel is fitted, than any standard road going wheel of a similar circumference will do, I.e. it's only the space saver that has a lower speed limit.

Just one thing if I went down the 19 in space saver route would this wheel need different wheel bolts as it wouldn’t be a alloy wheel

My car came with a space saver...but no extra bolts so I would say no.

Hi Bigdrew, you were asking my tyre size on the C Class. They are 225/40R19 Front. 225/35R19 Rear.
They are Goodyear Assymetric 4

Hi was just wondering as mine are 225/40/19 and 255/35/19 if I got a19in space saver would i be able to use the same wheel bolts or would I need to get different bolts as its a steel wheel

Hi so would anyone know what size of space saver I would need to get for my size of wheel 225/40/19 front and 255/35/19 rear as I haven’t got a clue what what wheel i would need it would be very much appreciated
