After Thmsshaun drew attention to the DVLA registration enquiry site, I confirmed that HSS 790 is now attached to a '92 red 300CE.

I tooled around in this fine 1973 example of British workmanship 28 years ago when I was half my present age and ownership of a Mercedes Benz had never crossed my mind!

The red label on the rear screen reminds you to use nothing less than 5 Star - which the 143 bhp V8 consumed at 17 mpg at best!

Ahhh - memories, memories....

Does anyone on the Forum own, or know the whereabouts of, the 300CE with 'my' number?

I've got half a feeling it might be in Coventry. There's a really chavved-up 300CE I've seen around, and it has an ageless plate. It's not easy to read, though, because of the font.

I'll look out for it.

I've finally seen that blummen car again!

Sorry Del, it's not your old number. Its MSU 747 (or MSV or HSV or HSU - Like I said, it's in itallics).

No photo, but I guess it doesn't matter now....
