Car
clk 55 amg
My wife has a golf gti and I took it a spin today (very different type of car I know), and I really enjoyed the responsiveness. It reminded me of the threads I read about on the sprintbooster, and thinking about getting one. I have got a (208) CLK 55 AMG, and I was worried that it would change the character of the car too much. Has anyone fitted a sprintbooster on this type of engine, or does anyone have any thoughts. Would be much appreciated.

I got one on my 211 E55 ///AMG and i highly recommend.;)

I would imagine that it makes it more responsive, but does it makes it wheelspins a lot, and does it lurch forward, is it easy to control? Thanks

Never had the pleasure of driving a 55 so I don't know how the car responds or feels but if you found the Golf resposive then I would think the 55 would benefit from the Sprint Booster.
Lots been written on this forum about these gadgets. I am a huge fan.
Perhaps there is a reason that you never see a second hand one for sale.;)

Thanks guys, just put a bid on e-bay for a second hand one from a guy who is selling his car, and says that it wont work on his new car.

Seller has an ml63 amg, said it transformed the car, the only reason he was selling it was because it isn't compatible with the BMW he is buying, so it doesn't really contradict what you said

had one on mine for the last 6 months, transforms the car, makes it more lively, and nicer to drive fast although the car is still a cruiser and not a sports car. Now it doesn't take the three or four seconds wait for it to kick down when you floor it, and the throttle is sensitive when pulling off so you spin the wheels more specially in the wet which can also be contributed to by the crap diff.

Just won the e-bay auction, £103 including postage. Looking forward to putting it on next week, though still a little worried about slow manoevering, especially in reverse

if you're that worried you could use the gearbox W/S (winter setting) button therefore every time you pull off you'll be in second gear. In reality you learn to be 'soft touch' on the pedal!!

Just got back home, and the sprintbooster has arrived. Unfortunately I have got a temperature, a hacking cough and a runny nose! and its raining, but I still intend to fit it today.

Fit it quick and go for a drive, and leave your cold behind you:)

Wow, really does change the car. My stepson just drove it (has type R, had a 370 bhp S4 and so on), and he agrees with me that this is the best £100 I have ever spent on the car. Definitely worth it, (and 20 secs to fit, as it is in the engine bay...after I had taken off the accelerator and the panel underneath the steering wheel).
