SSL Certificates

If you have an SSL certificate in the format of the certificate and the private key which you would normally use on Linux, can this be converted to be used within IIS in Windows without the CSR?

I've tried using a notepad but of course it is invalid.

I don't know much about windows servers, but maybe this is of help on how to install the cert on IIS?

I have installed ssl on both Linux and windows, but never tried using the same certificate on both.

But, to answer your question, go to your SSl provider and download a certificate for windows server. You will need to export your private key from Linux so that the cert matches the key.
