Steering wheel buttons

I have a C220d 2018. On the right side of my steering wheel there are 6 buttons. There is one which seems to indicate that if i press it, it hears commands like 'telephone the wife' or such like. Alas, when i press it, nothing happens. Is it broken or is it just there to look good and maybe function on a better equipped model?

It's the latter, on models with Linguatronic spec'd

Also, note that its functionality changes if you have Apple CarPlay or Android Auto active.

Hi again whitenemesis...The "talk" button is on my 2018 E class w213, and when pressed, it does indeed seem to work, but I'm not sure about how to manage if. I've only had the car for 3 days and am still in the exploratory stage. So far, the best option seems to be to manually select the person you wish to contact and press the button. But it's early days yet, so we will see. There's a whole chapter devoted to Lingua phone in the manual, but it seems to be a bit confusing so far.
Anyway..in time all well be revealed!
