Steering wheel upgrade

Hi I’m new to the forum and wondered if anyone can help me with steering wheel upgrade on my W204 C320cdi I’ve purchased the later model flat bottom wheel with flappy paddles, I installed the wheel along with upgrade angle sensor and stalks, everything works as it should well I thought it did, I get error ESP inoperative and run flat error message, having done a diagnostic test it says anlgle sensor fault, can anyone help, thanks in advance.
